Two Held for Vandalizing IBEDC Cables

Two persons have been arrested for allegedly vandalizing and stealing IBEDC cables at Ijebu Ode in Ogun state.

The suspects, Odogwu Wisdom and Akorede Aregbe were both arrested at Olisa axis of the town on June 1.

The IBEDC cables had already been cut from a power facility in the area

Spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, says one of the suspects, Odogwu Wisdom, was arrested by a police team at 2 am, following a distress call from local vigilante in the area.

According to Oyeyemi. Other members of the gang escaped on a motorcycle.

Oyeyemi says that Odogwu while undergoing interrogation, said his gang specialized in stealing of electric cables.

He mentioned the name of Akorede as the alleged receiver of the stolen cables, who was immediately arrested.
