Two persons died and eight others injured in a lone autocrash along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun State.

The crash occurred on Saturday At Mile 12, Ogere segment of the expressway.

Ogun State sector command of Federal Road Safety Corps, Ahmed Umar said the vehicle involved in the crash, a truck marked BWR 446 XE, was loaded with sugar.

Umar said victims of the crash were sitting on the bags of sugar when the accident occurred.

The FRSC commander said the driver under the influence of alcohol was speeding and lost control of the truck.

According to Umar, the vehicle hit the median of the expressway and fell on its side, spilling its content on the road, causing traffic logjam.
