Tribunal To End Hearing Of Obi And Atiku’s Petitions On August 8

Hearing of petitions filed by Labour Party and PDP by the presidential poll petitions tribunal is to end on August 8, 2023

The tribunal, during its Tuesday sitting also fixed may 30 for the take off of trials in the petitions

filed against the election of the APC candidate, Bola Tinubu, in the February 25 poll

The hearing of the petitions are scheduled to end on June 23

For apc and its candidate, the tribunal ordered it to defend their victory in the poll within five days

The same deadline was given to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to defend its conduct of the poll

It also directed Atiku and PDP, along with Labour party to present their joint petitions against the conduct of the February 25 presidential poll within three weeks

Justice Haruna Tsammani who read the tribunal’s rulings rejected the request of

Labour party’s lead counsel, professor Awa Kalu for seven weeks to present petitions.
