Trial Census Underway in Ogun

A trial census of population and property is underway in Imeko Afon local government area of Ogun state.

Imeko Afon was selected for the exercise in the south west region.

The trial census which started on July 20 is scheduled to end on Saturday

The chairman of the National Population Commission, Alhaji Nasir Kwarra monitoring the exercise expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise in the area.

Also monitoring the trial were NPC national commissioners from Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Bayelsa, Enugu, Ekiti, Taraba, and Osun states.

The Oyo state NPC national commissioner, Doctor Eyitayo Oyetunji who represented the chairman, addressing a townhall meeting later explained that the trial census was being conducted to test run the instruments and methods to be adopted for the proper national census in April 2023.

The Onimeko, Oba Olalekan urges federal government to further recognized the community by ensuring the location of its projects in the town.
