Tinubu Rules Out National Unity Government, Opts For Government Of National Competence

President-Elect Bola Tinubu has rejected calls for the formation of the government of national unity being suggested in certain quarters.

The president-Elect said the focus of his administration would be the formation of national competence, not based on mediocrity, and primordial interests.

Tinubu in a statement he issued on Friday, promised to assemble competent women and men and youth across the country to build a safer, more prosperous and just Nigeria.

The president-elect asked Nigerians, irrespective of their political, religious and ethnic leanings to join hands with him in the task of nation building.

He said his team and himself have been daily engaged in discussions and meetings refining solutions so that his administration could begin actively working toward the common good the first day he assumes office.

Rockcity FM reported that the president-elect under the All Progressive Congress (APC) political Party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, had congratulated Nigerians, saying his victory in the February 25 presidential poll has brought a new dawn in the country, while thanking Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP and other candidates for participating in the poll.

Tinubu in his acceptance speech, after he was declared winner of the highly contested poll on Wednesday morning in Abuja, reached out to his opponents in the poll.

He also assured Nigerians whether they are BATifed, ATIKUlated, OBIdient, Kwankwasiya and other political affiliations, that he would actualize the hope for a better, more hopeful Nigeria.
