Tinubu Defends Muslim-Muslim Ticket, Says His Wife, Children Are Christians

The APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, says he is worried over the allegations in some quarters that he plans to Islamize Nigeria with his Muslim-Muslim ticket, if he wins in the 2023 poll.

Tinubu said the allegation was awful, considering that his wife and children are Christians who go to church on Sundays, leaving him at home.

The APC candidate, at an interactive session with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Abuja, demanded how he would Islamize Nigeria when he could not Islamize his own family.

He explained that the APC leaders leading the agitations against his Muslim-Muslim ticket, once lobbied him to be his running mate, which he rejected.

Tinubu said Muslim-Christian ticket would have been easier politically, but opted for Senator Kashim Shetimma because of his political value ahead of the 2023 polls.

The APC candidate also said he picked Shetimma because he has the capacity to assist him in governance if he wins.
