Terrorists Attack Kaduna-Bound Train, Injure Passengers

There are still uncertainty over the fate of passengers aboard the Kaduna bound train attacked by terrorists on Monday night in Kaduna state.

Kaduna state government said some of the passengers were injured in the attack.

Sources also said some of the passengers were abducted by terrorists from the train before the arrival of troops to the scene of the attack.

The terrorists had detonated an improvised explosive device on the track of the double gauge rail between Kataru and Rijana, demobilizing it on Monday night.

They opened gunfire on an estimated 970 passengers in the Kaduna bound train, causing confusion

Kaduna state government later in a statement said the troops deployed to intervene had secured the rail track and passengers.

It adds that passengers were being moved off the site, and those injured to the hospital.

Last Saturday, terrorists in a daring operation had also attacked Kaduna international airport, killing one person and grounded flights before they were chased away by security forces.
