Ten Killed, Six Injured In Fatal Auto Crash On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Ten passengers have died in a fatal auto crash on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in the early hours of Tuesday.

Six other passengers sustained injuries in the crash, which occurred near the Guru Maharaji axis of the road, close to Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

A hit-and-run truck conveying a container and a commercial bus carrying 18 passengers marked TRK 135 ZY.

The state sector commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Joshua Adekanye, announced the tragic news in Ibadan.

He, said the truck driving against the traffic ran into the bus travelling overnight from Malumfashi in Katsina state.

The FRSC commander said the bus driver, in the process of avoiding a direct hit, crashed into the container aboard the truck and fell into a ditch, while the truck driver managed to escape.

Those who were injured and bodies of those who died have been taken to the Ibadan central hospital.
