Suspects Linked To Recent Kidnap Cases In Abeokuta Ayetoro, Arrested

Two suspected member of a kidnap gang in Ogun State on the wanted list of the police, have been arrested.

The two suspects, arrested on Saturday morning at Rounder axis of Abeokuta, the state capital, are Jato Abu Bello and Muhammad Suleiman.

Police say the suspects wanted in connection with a series of kidnap cases in Abeokuta and Ayetoro, have allegedly confessed their roles in recent kidnap cases in the areas.

They included the kidnap of one Ajibola Salimot Adegoke from her home at Oke Ode, Ayetoro last February 17, as well as the abduction of Victoria Oladoyin last February 26 at Sodeke Titun in Abeokuta.

Also, the suspects allegedly confessed to kidnapping of two siblings, Esther Kehinde and David Kehinde last week at Ayetoro.

Spokesman of the state police command, Deputy Superitendent Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspects were tracked to rounder axis of Abeokuta on Saturday after technical investigations.

Oyeyemi said they were arrested by a team of police officers from the police anti-kidnap unit as well as Lafenwa and Ilupeju police stations led by Superitendent Taiwo Opadiran.

The state police commissioner, Lanre Bankole, has ordered a manhunt for other members of the kidnap gang, while commending the police team which effect the arrest of the two suspects.
