Suspected Ritualists Exhuming Corpses From Graves Nabbed In Ogun

A group of suspected ritualists responsible for exhuming corpses from graves in Ososa, near Ijebu Ode in Ogun state, are now in police net.

The police on Sunday say the suspects have been selling parts they removed from the exhumed corpses for money making rituals.

Spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi said members of the ritualist gang were responsible for several corpses which had been exhumed from graves in the town.

He listed those arrested as 60 year old Oshola Fayemi; 39 year old Oseni Adesanya; 69 year old Oseni Oluwasegun and 50 year old Lawal Olaiya.

Detectives from the Odogbolu police divisional headquarters acting on a tip, raided the hideout of the suspected ritualists to effect their arrest.

Oyeyemi said the suspects while undergoing interrogation, told detectives that they always sell parts of the corpses they exhumed to stand buyers who used them for money making rituals.

The state police commissioner, Frank Mba, had ordered the transfer of the suspects from Odogbolu police divisional headquarters to the state criminal investigations and intelligence department for dilligent investigations.
