Suspect Says Ibara GRA Couple Killed For Not Increasing His Salaries

The prime suspect killer of the couple killed on new year day at Ibara GRA, Abeokuta, Ogun State has explained why he teamed up with two others to murder them.

The suspect, Lekan Alabi who was the driver of the couple Kehinde Fatinloye and his wife, Bukola Fatinloye since 2018 was arrested by detectives from Ogun State Police Command with Ahmed Odetola and Waheed Adeniyi for the crime.

Lekan, paraded along with the two other suspect on Friday at Eleweran police headquarters in Abeokuta, told newsmen he invited Odetola and Adeniyi to rob the couple.

The suspect said he took the decision after the couple refused to increase his salary and give him a loan to buy a motorcycle.

The police spokesman said Lekan who was the prime suspect, escaped from a hospital bed where he was receiving treatment after his initial arrest on January 2.

According to him, detectives tracked him to his elder brother’s place in Iseyin in Oyo State, but managed to escape before he was finally arrested at a hideout in Abeokuta on Janaury 21.

His alleged accomplices, Odetola and Adeniyi, suspected to be members of a cult group were arrested later at Ogere on Thursday.
