Surveillance cameras are to be installed at Nigeria’s land borders to check illegal immigrants and border criminals.
Acting comptroller general of Nigeria immigration service, Isa Idris announced this during a visit the Ibaka Mbo command post of immigration in Akwa- Ibom state.

He said that a contract had been signed with a Chinese firm to supply the surveillance cameras for the implementation of the project in the second quarter of this year.
The immigration comptroller general also said that a data communication centre would be established in Abuja as a component of the e-border control project.
