Six More Ogun Cultists Nabbed in Sagamu Axis in Ongoing Clampdown

Six suspected members of eiye confraternity cult group, have been arrested in Ogun east, in the ongoing clampdown on cultists, following recent attacks in Sagamu and Abeokuta in Ogun state.

The suspects, according to the police, had been on their wanted list since the last cultists clashes in Sagamu, in which four persons were killed.

Those picked up are Rafiu Osokoya,  Azeez Abiola, Kolawole Adegbenro, Azeez Taiwo, Ogunsanwo Waheed, and Toheeb Ayodele.

They were rounded in the ongoing clampdown by the police anti-cultist unit during their nocturnal meeting in Ayepe-Odogbolu axis of the state.

Spokesman of the state police command, superintendent Abimbola Oyeyemi says that some of them escaped during the raid.

During interrogation, Oyeyemi says the suspects allegedly confessed that they were planning attacks at the nocturnal meeting for a fresh attack in Sagamu.

According to Oyeyemi, they also allegedly confessed to the killing of one Animasaun, Ekwe, Adigun, and Elewure in Sagamu.

The state police commissioner, Lanre Bankole, has ordered a massive manhunt for other cultists in hiding in the area, and the arraignment of those in custody in courts.
