Shinkafi Asks NYSC to Stop Posting Members to Some North West States

Former Chairman of committee prosecution of bandits and related offences in Zamfara State, Sani Shinkafi, has asked National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to stop posting members to some states in the North West region.

Shinkafi listed the states as Zamfara, Kebbi and Sokoto. Shinkafi speaking on a television programme, said the states were infested with bandits

He said that NYSC would be endangering lives of the youth corps members being posted to the region.

Two weeks ago, eight youth corps members heading to their places of positing were abducted from a bus in Zamfara State.

Shinkafi advised the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal to engage in a “peace dialogue” with repentant bandits, stressing that the stance taken by the administration of Lawal’s predecessor, Bello Matawalle, to dialogue with the terrorists was beneficial to securing the release of abductees in the state.

He lamented, “No place in the 14 local governments of Zamfara is safe, many people are killed, many people are kidnapped.”
