The senate has extended the 2021 budget bill till May 31. The 2021 budget was initially scheduled to have expired on March 31.

The senate, during Tuesday plenary, extended the life span of the budget after considering a bill seeking to amend the 2021 budget bill.

The bill was sponsored by the senate leader, Senator Yahaya Abdullahi.

The senate suspended the standing order and gave an accelerated first, second, and third reading to pass the bill.
