Segun Sowunmi is Optimistic About Clinching Ogun PDP Ticket

Ogun state PDP parallel governorship candidate, Otunba Segun Sowunmi, said he is optimistic that he will emerge as the party’s candidate in the state’s 2023 governorship poll.

He vowed to pursue his ongoing legal battle for the ticket to the logical conclusion.

Sowunmi, addressing newsmen on the appeal court’s ruling on his objection to the conduct of the PDP governorship primaries, said the victory he recorded in his appeal has strengthened him to fight the battle to the end.

The appeal court in its ruling on Tuesday, ordered the Ogun state high court to re-list his petition against the PDP state executive committee for a fresh hearing.

The petition is seeking the dissolution of the state executive and the constitution of a caretaker committee to conduct a fresh governorship primary.

Segun Sowunmi, who described the appellate court’s ruling as thorough, said he could not be intimidated to concede defeat in a primary election that failed to follow due process.

He claimed to have a network of family and friends that could assist him to comfortably prosecute a successful governorship campaign.
