Several persons who spoke at the forum, including the chairman of IPAC, Samson Ogunsanya, urged Sowunmi to join the Ogun 2023 governorship race.

Ogunsanya asked the PDP to adopt Sowunmi as its 2023 governorship candidate if they want to win the poll.

Sowunmi, in his acceptance speech blamed the failure of the PDP to regain power from the APC on the prolonged infighting in the state chapter of the party.

According to him, he has all it takes to take the state to a higher level if voted for in the 2023 governorship poll.
