Security Forces Raid Kidnappers’ Hideout In Abeokuta, Arrest 9

Security forces have raided kidnappers’ hideout in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, arresting nine members of the kidnap gang.

The hideout, located at Oba village, off Ayetoro road, near rounder, was raided on sunday by policemen, local hunters, the OPC, local vigilante, as well as operatives of Amotekun corps and So-Safe Corps.

Nine suspects arrested, so far, are Hammed Taiwo, Kehinde Jimoh, Ali Morandu, Sanda Aliu, Umar Sanda, Usman Mohammed, Usman Abubakar, Umaru Ahmadu, and Umaru Momodu.

Spokesman of the state police command, abimbola oyeyemi, says the raid followed an intelligence gathered by the Sabo/Ilupeju police divisional headquarters

According to Oyeyemi, the intelligence led to the arrest of Taiwo and Jimoh who were allegedly on an errand for the kidnap gang at rounder.

He says the two suspects, during interrogation, told the police that their role in the kidnap operation was to monitor the axis and notify them of any movement of law enforcement agencies to their camp.

The two suspects later led the security team to the hideout of the kidnappers where seven of them were arrested.
