Security Forces Raid ESN Camps In Ebonyi

Security Forces have raided camps of the Eastern Security Network in Ebonyi State, arresting two of its members.

An unspecified number of the ESN members died, and other jumped into a river to escape arrest.

Three of the camps of ESN located in a thick forest at Omege village in Ishielou Local Government Area were destroyed during the raid, by the police, operatives of Department of Security Service and Military personnel.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, Chris Anyanwu, said the raid was carried out after information extracted from top members of ESN, arrested in earlier operations.

He listed items captured during the raid from the camps as eleven bullet proof jackets, eight sets of military camouflage, two camp gas cookers and 40 rounds of general purpose machine gun live ammunition.

Others are 110 rounds of FNC live ammunition, two pro electronic scam and five single barrel rifles.
