Security Forces Patrol Ijagun, As TASUED Students, Host Community Clash

Security forces including police patrol and troops are now patrolling Ijagun near Ijebu Ode, following clashes between students of Tai Solarin University of Uducation, Ijagun and members of their host community.

The fighting which started last Friday  followed the alleged killing of a 300 level student who the host community suspected to be a cultists.

Angry students on Sunday went on rampage, set the palace of a traditional ruler and three other houses on fire.

The registrar of the institution, Dapo Oke, announcing the immediate closure urged parents and guardians of students in the institution to recall their children and ward back home.

He said the situation was more critical at imaweye axis of the community.

The registrar said security operatives are battling to restore normalcy to the community.

Amidst the fighting, several residents of the town had fled for safety.

Security forces have managed to restore peace to the town.
