Scores Burnt To Death In Kogi Fatal Autocrash

Scores of peoples have been burnt to death and injured, in a fatal autocrash at a military checkpoint along Anyigba-Itobe highway in Kogi state.

More than 20 vehicles, including petrol tankers, buses and trucks were also destroyed by fire from exploding petrol tankers.

The accident was caused by a coal laden truck which crashed into a petrol tanker used by protesting petrol tankers drivers to block the highway.

This resulted into explosions from fire from the other petrol tankers.

Witnesses alleged that the drivers of petrol tankers blocked the road following while engaging soldiers for allegedly shooting their two colleagues, following a heated arguments at the military checkpoint.

Federal Road Safety Corps says it is collating information over the incident and the number of casualties.
