RMAFC Asks Buhari To Assent To Bill On Reviewed Pay For Public Office Holders

Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission ( RMAFC ) asks president Buhari thus:.

Assent to the bill on the review of the remuneration act for elected and designated public office holders.

The commission chairman, Mohammed Sheu, said thus:

If buhari failed to assent to the bill, the monthly salary of next president would remain at N1.2 million monthly, while that of the state governors would be N1.1 million.

Sheu who spoke on the issue on Tuesday, at the first economic confidential public lecture in Abuja

He said the take home pay of political office holders was overdue for review.

According to him, some chief executive officers  of companies in the private sector collected between n2 million and n5 million salaries monthly.

He said the last time the renumeration of political office holders and other designated public or judicial officers were last reviewed in 2003.
