Reps Asks NNPCL To End Petrol Scarcity Within Seven Days

House of Representatives has ordered the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to end the ongoing petrol scarcity crisis within the next one week and sell the product at approved pump prices.

The house passed the resolution during the Tuesday plenary, following a motion raised by a member, Musa Abdullah who warns that the continued petrol crisis has the potency to provoke innocent Nigerians against the government.

Abdullah alleged that there is a deliberate move by some of the petroleum products marketers to disrupt the petrol supply for selfish reason.

Such marketers, according to the lawmaker, have been hoarding the product to create an artificial scarcity, thereby raising the pump price of a litre to N300 in some fueling stations.

The house mandated its committees on petroleum resources (downstream) and legislative compliance to ensure compliance with the resolution.
