Public Holidays Declared For Christmas And New Year Celebration

The Federal Government has declared December 25 and 26, 2022 as public holidays for Christmas and Boxing Day

Also January 2, 2023 is declared work free day to mark the New Year.

Interior minister, Rauf Aregbesola announced this in a statement signed by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Dr. Shuaib Belgore.

The minister urges Christians to emulate the teaching of Christ on humility, service, compassion, patience, peace and righteousness that signify his birth.

He pleaded with Christians and Nigerians to make the best use of the festive period to pray for the total eradication of security challenges facing the country.

Aregbesola also asked Nigerians not to be involved in any insensitive crisis by criminally minded elements that wants to create anarchy in the country.

The minister asking them to report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest security agency through the N-alert application on android and IOS.
