The long awaited electioneering campaign for the 2023 presidential poll kicked off today.
The presidential poll is scheduled to hold on February 25, according to the timetable of the independent national electoral commission (INEC).
Eighteen candidates are expected to join the campaign train that will take them to all the nook and crannies of Nigeria’s 36 states and Abuja.
The leading contenders in the 2023 presidential race are Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the APC and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
Most of the parties in the presidential race have indicated readiness to hit the road immediately, to kickstart their campaign.
Atiku and the PDP governors, despite the failure to end a revolt by the Wike Group, are scheduled to hit Abuja today for the inauguration of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council.
Also, Labour Party National Chairman, Julius Abure on Tuesday said they were ready for the campaign.
But the APC in a sudden move on Tuesday announced the postponement of the inauguration of its campaign council, to accommodate other Chieftains.
