The coast appears clear for the March 26 national convention of the APC in Abuja, as president Buhari and the APC state governors agreed on election of party’s officials by consensus.
Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Atiku Bagudu said the decision was taken at a meeting they held with president Buhari on Wednesday at the presidential villa.
Chairman of the APC caretaker committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni was in attendance.

The governors, according to him agreed to support the choice candidate of Buhari for the post of national chairman, and consensus option for others.
Bagudu, however, said the caretaker committee would not stop any aspirants who oppose the consensus candidates from contesting during the national convention.
Buhari calls for unity and end to disputes among the governors to ensure a hitch-free national convention.
The president, however, directs the caretaker committee to refund money paid for nomination forms by aspirants dropped for consensus candidates.
