Armed policemen have taken over the PDP state secretariat in Abia state.

On Thursday, the policemen restricted movement in and out of the secretariat located along Finbarr road in Umuahia.

The policemen were deployed, following protests by supporters over the conduct of three member delegate congress.

The protests started on Tuesday.

The state PDP spokesman, Fabian Nwankwo said staff at the secretariat would resume on Friday.

He said secretariat staff had been given a one day stay at home directive.
