Police Inspector Kills Colleague In Abia, Reports Self To Police Command

A Police Inspector, Atule Benedict, has shot another inspector of police, to death in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

Both senior police officers of the SPU Base, Umuahia, were attached as orderlies to a member of the State House of Assembly, Ginger Onwusibe.

Spokesman of the state police command, Godfrey Ogbonna, confirmed the incident, and named the killed police inspector as Ugwor Samuel.

The tragic incident was said to have started unfolding, following an argument over undisclosed issues by the two senior police officers.

After killing his colleague, police inspector Benedict was said to have threatened to shoot anyone who attempted to stop him.

He later fled from the scene of the incident and surrendered himself to the state criminal investigations and intelligence department, where he is being detained.
