Police Comb Forest In Ogun, In Search Of TRACE Officer Abducted By Gunmen
Anti-kidnap policemen, hunters and vigilante group are searching for a senior official of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) who was abducted by gunmen on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The TRACE officer, identified as Popoola Olasupo, was abducted by gunmen at a spot near Eledumare-Fidiwo axis of the expressway, in the early hours of Sunday.
He was on his way to a duty post along with a colleague, on a motorcycle, when gunmen emerged from the forest.
The officer said to be on the passenger seat of the motorcycle was abducted, while the rider managed to escape the gunmen.

The agency’s spokesman, Commander Babatunde Akinbiyi, was not picking his calls when contacted on the incident.
But the police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirming the incident, said the anti-kidnap unit of the state police command is already searching for the officer to rescue him.
Oyeyemi said the police team was being assisted in combing forests in the axis by vigilance groups.
He vows that the TRACE officer would be rescued, while kidnappers would be rounded up.
