PETROL SCARCITY TO LINGER, FOLLOWING ZERO STOCK IN NNPC SOUTH WEST DEPOTS

Hope dims for an end of petrol scarcity in Ogun, Lagos and other states in the south west region, this weekend.

None of the five NNPC depots in the region, including the one at Mosinmi, near Sagamu had products as at Thursday.

But hope rose later on Thursday that loading would resume at some of the depots overnight.

Rockcity FM gathered that most of the fueling stations in the region ran out of stock on Thursday.

The shortage in petrol stock encouraged most of the fuelling stations in Abeokuta to resort to hoarding of their limited stock until fresh supply is received.

Some of the fuelling stations were selling the hoarded petrol at night at prices above the controlled pump price.

Sources in the oil sector said most of the clean fuel that the NNPC wants to supply to depots are still offshore, while some are being discharged at the ports.
