Peter Obi Says He Won Presidential Poll, Ready To Prove His Claims In Court

The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has claimed that he won the February 25th presidential poll. Obi vows to use all legal options to recover his alleged mandate.

The presidential candidate, addressing a news conference in Abuja on Thursday said he would seek redress in courts.

He indicated his readiness to prove to all Nigerians that he won the poll, while alleging that the presidential poll was programmed to deliver a per-determined results.

The Labour candidate pleaded with supporters to remain calm, peaceful conduct as he pursues a legal option to reclaim his alleged mandate.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has asked all aggrieved candidates in the February 25th polls to take their grievances to court.

The congress calls for a peaceful resolution of the dispute over the outcome of the polls.

NLC president, Joe Ajaero, made the call in Lagos State while leading members of the congress on a visit to the association of the Nigerian Aviation Professionals in Lagos.

He said the aggrieved candidates have the legitimate to seek redress in courts or to stage protests.

Ajaero, however, said such protests must not be allowed to degenerate into the breakdown of the law and order.
