The PDP has asked Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to work with Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) for the October 15 local government poll.
The PDP state legal adviser, Hashim Abioye, told INEC that his party has filed a legal action at the federal high court in Osogbo to compel OSSIEC to comply with the provisions of electoral act, to conduct the poll.

The PDP legal adviser explains that section 28 of the act stipulates that a notice of the poll must be given not later than 360 days, while a list of candidates must be published not later than 180 days.
He asks INEC not to release the updated voter register to OSSIEC for the conduct of the poll, which according to him, violates the provisions of the electoral act 2022.
