Osun APC Faction Protests, Seeking Restructuring of State Exco

Members of the Osun state APC faction loyal to former governor Rauf Aregbesola have demonstrated in Osogbo, the state capital.

They staged a protest march on the major streets of the capital.

The APC faction members are demanding a restructuring of the state APC executive committee by the party’s national working committee.

Former chairman of Osogbo south local council development authority, Hakeem Olaope warns that APC will continue losing in future polls in the state if the state exco is not restructured.

The faction has lost out in the composition of the state exco because it held a parallel primaries which was not recognized by the national working committee.

Reacting to the protest march, the state chairman of the APC, Prince Gboyega Fanwo in a statement described the protest as callous, shameful, primitive, and wicked.

According to him, it is inconsiderate for members of the faction who worked against the re-election of Governor Oyetola during the last election to embark on a fresh against the party.
