Osinbajo Warns Politicians Against Exploiting Sectional Interests To Win Seek Votes
Vice president Yemi Osinbajo has urged political elites seeking elective offices to stop exploiting sectional or ethnic sentiments to mobilize their constituencies during electioneering campaign.
Political leadership, according to him, must exhibit a high sense of responsibility, while contesting for political power.
He made the call while speaking at the maiden policy making and good governance lecture series of the national institute of policy and strategic studies, kuru.
Osinbajo in the pursuant of political power, there must be lines that must not be crossed.
According to the vice president, political leadership elite should not toy with prejudice in a contest for power, warning that it poses threat to democracy.
Osinbajo explained that this was dangerous because it amounts to an attempt to promote division and hatred in the country.
