Ortom Cries Out, Says He Is Being Targeted For Assassination
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has cried out over an alleged plot to assassination him.
According to him, those behind the plot, according to him, had reportedly sent a petition, alleging that he masterminded the killing of some pastoralists who died in a bomb attack in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State last week.

Ortom, addressing a news conference on Thursday in Makurdi, said the group headed by former Emir of Kano, Alhaji Lamido Sanusi, also tried to link the Benue State livestock guards with the killings, which took place in another state.
The pastoralists were reportedly bombed on their way from Benue to Nasarawa State by a suspected drone, after they had retrieved their cattle in Benue State.
According to him, the petitioners have declared him an enemy for choosing to stand with the people of Benue State for enacting the anti-open grazing policy.
Ortom said he had written a counter petition over to matter to be delivered to Mr President, stressed that he had no hand in the killings.
