Ondo Introduces N1,000 Education Levy
Every taxable adult in Ondo State is to pay N1,000 education levy yearly.
The state government says it is targetting N1 billion from the levy every year.
Education Commissioner, Femi Agagu who announced the levy at a news conference in Akure, the state capital said the levy would be paid into the State Education Endownment Fund.
According to the commissioner, proceeds from the fund would be used to provide facilities for schools, renovation of dilapidated structures in schools.

He added that the levy would be used to provide bursary, scholarship for indigent students, functional libraries in schools, support adult literacy schemed as well as improve learning and teaching in special schools.
