Ogun Tops On Solid Mineral Production Chart in 2021

Ogun state has topped Nigeria’s solid mineral production chart for the year 2021, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The state, according to data from the bureau recorded the year’s highest solid mineral production with 32.04 million tones.

Nigeria’s total production for 2021 was 89.48 million tones.

Trailing Ogun state was Kogi state, which produced 18.04 million tonnes and Cross River state credited with 11.64 million tones.

In the south west, Oyo was credited with 1.93 million tonnes, Ondo (1.33 million tonnes), Ekiti (87,665 tonnes), Lagos (51,374 tonnes), while Osun produced 17,844 tonnes of solid mineral

According to NBS, granite and limestone tops the mineral mined during the period under review.
