Ogun To Bail Out LGS With N400m To Meet October First Line Charges

Ogun State Government plans to augment the revenue of the state’s 20 Local Governments (LGs) with N400.8 million to meet their first line financial commitments for the month of October 2022.

The State Accountant General, Babatunde Aregbesola, made this known during the meeting of the November 2022 joint state and local government allocation committee, held at the Obas complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

He said the 20 local governments received a total of N3.9 billion as their statutory allocation from federation account for the month of October.

Aregbesola, however, said the local governments required about N4.3 billion to meet their front line charges.

The first line charges, include staff salaries and teachers salaries, as well as pensions, traditional councils and statutory payment to the local government commission.
