Ogun Suspends Fine Payment On Buildings Without Approval

Governor Dapo Abiodun has suspended the payment of penalties imposed on persons who built houses without Ogun State government’s approval.

The Governor says the grace period for non payment of the imposed penalties is 30 days.

Abiodun announced the grace period while speaking at the event held to mark the 2022 World Habitat Day at the Oba Complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

He explained that the 30 day grace period was to enable those who defaulted in obtaining approval before constructing their buildings to get the necessary approval.

He warned that after the 30 day period, those who still failed to obtain approval for their buildings would face serious sanctions by the Urban and Regional Agencies.

According to the Governor, the sanction would compel the defaulters to pay 100 per cent of the fee they would had paid for obtaining the approval.
