Ogun State Government Takes Delivery Of Kits To Convert Vehicles To Use Compressed Natural Gas

Ogun state government has taken delivery of kits for converting vehicles from using diesel to compressed natural gas.

Transportation commissioner, Engineer Dairo, said the kits would reduce emission and promote cleaner environment.

Permanent secretary in the ministry, Mrs Sola Osasona, taking the delivery of the kits on behalf of the commissioner, said compressed natural gas was cheaper than diesel and petrol.

Dairo the pilot phase of the project would see the conversion of the state bus mass transit buses from the use of diesel to compresed natural gas, adding that it would be extended to other vehicles.

The commissioner said the conversion process, which would last between four and six weeks, would reduce the cost of running the BMT buses due to the high cost of diesel.

Also Speaking , the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration, Office of the Governor, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, described Governor Dapo Abiodun as a man who keeps his promises.

He stated that the delivery of the kits is a testimony to the governor’s commitment to achieving an eco-friendly means of transportation.
