Ogun SDP Governorship Candidate, Tony Ojesina Steps Down For Adebutu Of PDP

Ogun State governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Engineer Tony Ojesina, has pulled out of the March 18 governorship race. Ojeshina stepped down for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Honorable Ladi Adebutu, days to the governorship poll.

The SDP candidate, announcing his decision at a news conference on Thursday in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital, said it was taken to save Ogun State from the alleged deceptive government of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

At the news conference were his running mate, Aare Gbenga Oluyemi, the State SDP Deputy Chairman, Aare Sola Coker.

Ojesina said he was stepping down to facilitate the take over of Oke Mosan from a cabal, adding that there was the need for collaboration across the political divide to achieve the objective.

He asked all the SDP supporters in the state to cast their votes for the PDP during the March 18 governorship poll.

The deputy chairman also said the party’s state working committee believed in the candidacy of Adebutu as one that would serve the interest of residents.
