Ogun Puts Salaries Deductions Arrears at 10 Billion Naira, Gratuity at 60 Billion

Ogun state government has put its deductions from salaries of workers at about 10 billion naira.

Also, the arrears of pensions and gratuity is estimated at between 60 billion naira and 70 billion naira.

Secretary to the state government, Tokunbo Talabi who made this known at a news conference in Abeokuta said the state government is working towards settling the deduction arrears before the end of the year.

Talabi also assured that the gross salaries will be paid as from July while the quarterly payment of 500 million naira to clear the arrears of gratuity will be sustained.

He also says that rehabilitation of the bad portions of Sango-Ota-Ijoko axis of Ota-Ojodu Berger expressway project has begun and will be completed in two weeks.

The secretary to the state government assures that the rehabilitation works will be extended towards Akute in the coming weeks.

On the Sango Ota-Abeokuta expressway road, Talabi said that both Ogun and the federal government are looking at several options to reconstruct the road which is in a deplorable condition.

He explained that Ogun state government has proposed three options for funding the road project to the works minister and relevant federal agencies, adding that grey areas of the options will be sorted out.

One of the options, according to him, is a tax credit to fix the road which it is still awaiting a feedback from federal government.
