Ogun Political Parties Round Up Campaign, Ahead Of Saturday Polls

Political parties in Ogun State, are rounding off their campaign for the March 18 governorship and state houses of assembly poll.

For the past three days, political parties and their candidates have been holding mega rallies across the state to mobilize for votes.

Candidates of the four top contending parties, the All Progressive Congress (APC), The People Democratic Party (PDP), The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and The New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), had taken their campaign to the grassroots, and major stakeholders.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday started distributing sensitive electoral material to the local government areas, ahead of the Saturday March 18 polls.

The state INEC Resident Electoral Commssioner, Niyi Ijalaiye, addressing newsmen while distributing the sensitive material on Wednesday said the agency was ready for the Saturday poll.

According to him, INEC had learnt lessons from the last February 25 Presidential/National Assembly polls and would improve on the conduct of the Saturday March 18 polls.

Ijalaiye promised that the logistics challenges which delayed the late arrival of INEC officials and electoral materials to the polling units during the February 25 polls, would not be repeated on Saturday March 18.
