Ogun Police Read Riot Act to Unregistered Vehicles’ Owners

The police have read a riot act to users of unregistered vehicles and motorcycles plying roads in Ogun state.

Such vehicles and motorcycles are to be impounded and their owners and users arrested and prosecuted.

The state police commissioner, Lanre Bankole, in a statement by the command spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said such vehicles and motorbikes are being used to commit most of the crimes, especially cult-related ones in the state.

He directed police area commanders and the divisional police officers to look out for such unregistered vehicles and motorcycles.

They are also ordered to look out for motorcycles with fake number plates.

The police chief asks leaders of the various commercial motorcycle riders unions in the state to desist members from riding motorcycles without number plates.
