Ogun PDP Hits Out at Adebutu’s Challengers

Ogun PDP has lashed out at aggrieved members challenging the validity of Honorable Ladi Adebutu as the party’s candidate for the 2023 governorship poll.

Spokesman of the state PDP, Asiwaju Akintoye Bankole accused such aggrieved members of living in a fool’s paradise.

Bankole, speaking on a Rockcity FM programme, “Daybreak Show” on Thursday, said there is no more faction in the party, except those who refused to be pacified.

He adds that the state executive committee could no longer pacify aggrieved Ogun PDP members who are bent on working against the party in the state.

But a spokesman for the Kashamu PDP faction, Engineer Tunji Akinlade, also speaking on the programme, said the outcome of the litigation now before the appeal court in Ibadan may end the more than a decade old leadership crisis.

According to Akinlade, the state PDP leadership crisis would be resolved after the appeal court ruled on the petition filed by his faction to challenge the election of Adebutu as the state PDP candidate.

Akinlade gives a time frame of between three to four weeks, after which he assures that the leadership crisis would finally end.

The Kashamu faction, according to him, is tired of endless litigation and would work for the party’s governorship candidate cleared by the appeal court for the 2023 poll.
