Ogun state has been rated as one of the two states which led in IGR generation than the allocation received from the federation account in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
The other state is Lagos state, according to a report by a socio-economic research firm, SBM intelligence.

The research firm listed other states trailing Ogun and Lagos states as Rivers and Delta states
Also, data from the National Bureau of Statistics rated Ogun and Lagos states as leading in high IGR generation per population in the first half of 2021.
Lagos state during the period topped others with IGR totaling 267.2 billion naira, accounting for 31 percent of its total IGR for the period under review.
