The Olota of Ota, Oba Abdulkabir Obalanlege, has joined the growing calls in the south west region that operatives of Amotekun corps should be armed with superior weapons to effectively fight criminal elements.
Major stakeholders, including the south west governors had canvassed that operatives of Amotekun should be armed with superior weapons.

The monarch made the call at a security summit he organized in Ota to further tighten security in the industrial town.
According to the first class monarch, Amotekun operatives need to be well equipped to effectively face the rising challenges from criminal elements in the south west region.
Terrorists, armed bandits and most of the herders terrorizing the region are said to be armed with AK-47 rifles and other sophisticated weapons.
The monarch also calls for the community policing for effective policing at the grassroots in the region.
