Ogun Labour Party Still Consulting, As Governorship Candidate Still Not On Ballot

Ogun State Labour Party says it is still continuing consultations with other political parties and candidates in the state, days to the March 18, 2023 governorship and state house of assembly polls.

According to the party, democracy permits the formation of alliances, collaboration or support for one political party or the other.

The party’s house of representative candidate in the last February 25 polls, Tolulope Phillips, addressing Newsmen in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, reminded members of the public that Labour Party candidate, Kehinde Sogunle, was yet to be recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the March 18 polls.

He revealed that the People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu was one of the candidates seeking the support of the Labour Party, ahead of the poll.

Phillips expressed concern that his recent meeting with Ladi Adebutu was being misinterpreted as defection from the Labour Party to the PDP.

The candidate said he is still in the Labour Party.
