Ogun Labour Moves To Expel Arabambi, Factional Exco, Amidst  Leadership Crisis

A faction of the Ogun State Labour Party has recommended the expulsion of members of a parallel executive committee from the party for alleged anti-party activities.

Those recommended for expulsion, included:. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, as well as the State Shairman, Secretary, Organizing Secretary, Auditor and Financial Secretary of Labour Party.

The faction, which is loyal to Julius Abure, the National Chairman ordered by an Abuja High Court to step aside, said it has sent its recommendation for the expulsion of Arabambi and members of the factional exco, to the party’s National Working Committee.

The state faction in a statement issued by its spokesman, Tokunbo Peters, said the recommendation for the expulsion had been forwarded to the national headquarters since last week.

Arabambi and the state factional exco were accused of working for the Ogun State All Progressive Congress (APC), which deprived Labour Party from fielding candidate in the March 18 governorship poll in the state.

The faction which declared its allegiance to Abure and Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate, accused Arabambi and others of engaging in activities to destabilize the party and bring it to disrepute.
