Ogun Investigating Alleged Massive Illegal Sale Of Its Land By Officials

Ogun State government has set up a committee to investigate an alleged massive illegal sale of its land in parts of the state.

A six member panel committee is mandated to look into the allegation involving some top officials of the state Bureau of Land and Survey.

At least, three top officials, including two directors, as well as a surveyor in the bureau, have been quizzed over the alleged illegal sale of government lands.

Some of the land affected included portions of the state government’s land along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, and land allocated for the Gateway Cargo Airport under construction.

The investigations, it was gathered would be extensive to uncover the depth of the land fraud, believed to run into hundreds of millions of naira.

The illegal land sales, sources told Rockcity FM has been going on for a long time, until it came to light a few days ago.

The discovery sent shockwaves through the government’s circles, and search were conducted in the homes of affected officials.
